December 25, 2012 – The region’s tourism economy continued to grow in November as key economic indicators posted gains.The strongest gain happened at Palm Springs International Airport as 173,385 passengers made their way through the terminal in November, a 9.5 percent increase from the same month last year. The climb marked the 14th consecutive month of passenger count increases. And November 2011 was the first return to the airport’s record level, reached in 2007. November’s hotel numbers for the Palm Springs region were also up, according to Smith Travel Research. Hotel Occupancy was up 2 percent, while average daily rate rose 2.2 percent. And revenue per available room, known as RevPAR, was up 4.2 percent.
