Construction for Princeton University’s $300M arts and transit project could start in February (Times of Trenton)

December 20, 2012 – A Princeton University (Aaa / 646065Z21) official said the first phase of construction of the school’s $300 million arts and transit project could start as early as February, but opponents vowed to continue fighting the development and to appeal the planning board’s vote of approval. The board voted 9-1 in favor of the project late Tuesday night, marking a turning point in the six-year process of planning, debate and vociferous criticism of the project. Community members had praised the idea of building new theaters and other facilities around University Place and Alexander Road, but some condemned accompanying plans to move the Dinky commuter rail station 460 feet south.
