Shore up N.Y., federal incentives for revitalization (Democrat & Chronicle)

December 13, 2012 – Like other cities dotting the upstate map, Rochester is no stranger to tarnished treasures — architectural works of art jettisoned. While over the years they have faded into their surroundings, with the proper vision and the work of skilled craftsmen, many of these structures could be reborn.Quite often, the most fiscally solid remedy for rejuvenating blighted property is private-public teamwork. Two pending legislative measures that would help entice developers to stop and picture the possibilities deserve prompt consideration at the federal and state levels of government.
