Bill would prevent Gov. Christie from privatizing state lottery (Jersey Journal)

December 13, 2012 – A top Assembly Democrat has put forward a bill that would prevent Gov. Chris Christie from unilaterally privatizing the state lottery. Assembly Budget Committee Chairman Vincent Prieto of Secaucus introduced the measure that would require legislative approval on the privatization on Monday, five days after his committee heard testimony from Democrats and business owners that the Christie administration’s proposal to privatize the $2.6 billion operation needs more debate because the agency has been managed well.
