December 10, 2012 – The Financial Advisory Board overseeing Detroit’s finances is urging the state to begin a review process that could lead to the appointment of an emergency financial manager. The board, already frustrated with the city’s lack of progress under the consent agreement with the state, called Monday for the state to begin a review of the city’s finances under Public Act 72. “Everyone wants the answer, but no one wants to go through the process of getting there,” board member Darrell Burks said after the meeting. “The challenge is we’d like to see some positive things. We haven’t seen that over the last six months. The (pace) has to be urgent.
