Oregon Gov. Kitzhaber makes difficult pitch on his PERS proposals (Oregonian)

December 3, 2012 – Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber says he met with House Democrats and officials of the powerful Service Employees International Union this weekend to argue in favor of his proposal for $865 million in savings in public employee pension costs over the next two years. But the governor acknowledged that he was far from getting an enthusiastic response.  Kitzhaber discussed the meetings with reporters after speaking Monday to business leaders gathered in Portland for the Oregon Leadership Summit.
