December 4, 2012 – Promising to detail his plan for the future of the Ohio Turnpike by month’s end, Gov. John Kasich told Ohioans yesterday to keep open minds, saying his plan will create “shovel-ready jobs that can improve our state, put people to work and improve our infrastructure.” Speaking to members of the Ohio Contractors Association at an Easton hotel, Kasich would not divulge whether he will seek to lease the 241-mile toll road to a private operator, but said he is sensitive to the strong ties that residents in northern Ohio have to the 57-year-old highway.
